Wednesday the 19th April 2023 was a big day for our staff, and for all those working in the medical and nursing home sector, as facemasks became no longer mandatory under Covid-19 guidance from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
Staff and visitors are still advised to wear masks around patients who are confirmed or suspected to have Covid-19.While masks are no longer required for healthcare workers in most settings, they should still be on hand to respect such workers’ preferences, according to the guidance.
Nevertheless, this represents a notable day for our staff, residents and visitors and we thank our staff, in particular, for their outstanding efforts in adhering to the rules around masks so diligently over the past three years.
