The Cycle to Work Scheme (generally known as the Bike to Work Scheme) is a tax incentive scheme to encourage employees to cycle to work. Under the scheme, an employer can pay for a new bicycle (including bicycle accessories) and the employee then repays the cost in regular instalments from their gross salary.

Depending on your salary this can be a saving of up to 40% on the cost of a Bike or E Bike and the accessories needed for a safe journey.

For Bikes the max cost is €1250, for e bikes it is €1500 and for cargo/e-cargo bikes it goes up to €3000. The actual amount you repay, through instalments from your pay is deducted from your gross salary. This means that someone on the highest rate of tax will repay just over half of the cost of the bike.

At Evergreen Care Nursing Homes we are acutely aware that the cost of living for everyone has increased recently. Consequently, we aim to offer competitive rates of pay and we endeavour to continuously review these rates for staff.

In addition, we have partnered with other companies to provide employee discounts and provide meals for staff on our longer shifts.

Across the Evergreen Care Nursing Home Group we are so lucky to have so many amazing colleagues and team members. However, every month we recognise that there those employees that go above and beyond for the welfare of their residents and their families. To go some way to ensure that these employees are recognised each NH nominates staff members and every month a number are awarded the Employee of the Month.

Employees receive a gift voucher for their extra contribution to wellbeing and lives of our residents as a small token of our appreciation.

At Evergreen Care Nursing Homes, we are a believer in the benefits in lifelong education. Over the past number of years many of our employees have pursued further development across the entire learning spectrum. Many of our nursing homes partner with further education and training bodies to support the continued development of both our employees and non-employees that live in the local community.

In addition, all Evergreen Care Nursing Homes provide employees with access to a Further Education and Training Policy (FET). As an employee of an Evergreen Care Nursing Home employees may source courses of benefit to themselves and to the Nursing Home and then apply to have support given to them for the course.

This may be part funding or full funding in the form of reimbursement after successfully completing the course or paid time to attend course days or exams. It may also include an increase in flexibility in shift patterns temporarily or support during On-The-Job training.
